The information and utilities are embodied in widgets. Multiple widgets can exist in Dashboard at any given time. Users have complete control over what widgets are visible and can freely move them anywhere they please within Dashboard. The widgets are shown and hidden along with Dashboard, and they share Dashboard. When Dashboard is dismissed, the widgets disappear along with it.
A widget is a mini-application that exists exclusively in Dashboard. From a user perspective, it behaves as a program should: it shows useful information or helps them obtain information with a minimum of required input.
A widget is a self-contained piece of code that you can move into, out of and anywhere inside the sidebar area.

Using them

Click on any widget from the “Available Widgets” box in to your “Widget” box, they will go to your dashboard, and then you can move them around until you get the layout you want. You can download many more to go on your dashboard.

Opening them

If a widget has settings, it will show a small icon on the right after it has been dropped into your “Dashboard” some require you to be on the Internet others you don’t have to be.
Click outside the widget area to close and go back to the previous screen.

Greenland Pines is going Apple

On December 10, 2007 I had the wonderful job of telling my fellow teachers the we were going to change from a PC school to a APPLE school. I wrapped 7 laptop computer and had the grade level chairperson from that grade level come to the front where I gave them a package. When all the package were handed out. I had every one count from 10 backwards and told those people with the package they could open them when we got to 0 and said Happy Holidays!!! I wish You could have seen the faces when those teachers open up the packages and saw those Apple laptops. There was cheering and clapping!
